This is my second release from a Bourbon Maple Cask, this time matured longer and bottled exactly as it came from the cask at a natural 67.2% ABV.

The moment the bung was pulled, the room filled with the unmistakable aroma of warm maple syrup, buttered pancakes and icing sugar. It was one of those rare casks that instantly told its own story before a drop had even been tasted.

Originally a bourbon cask, it was later filled with pure maple syrup, allowing the syrup to absorb the bourbon character while the oak became deeply saturated with rich maple sweetness. That extended seasoning left an unmistakable imprint on the cask, producing one of the most distinctive whiskies we’ve released.

After the first tasting, I knew this whisky had to be shared. The maple character was immense—rich, decadent and almost dessert-like. To bring just a little more structure without losing its identity, only 4% of a natural cask strength bourbon whisky, double matured and now finishing in a fresh first-fill Buffalo Trace cask, was married into the final vatting.

The result is an unapologetically bold single malt, delivering layers of maple, honey, vanilla and warming oak. Enjoy it neat to experience its full natural strength, or add a few drops of water to reveal a softer, creamier side with lingering vanilla and confectionery notes.
